You are getting started with not only a new job, but a new career! From the time you start looking for a new job through your first day, the impression you leave with your new boss matters, but can be very overwhelming.

This presentation will help guide you with tips and tricks from having a solid resume so that you are chosen for the next step, to a successful interview and working interview if needed. The goal is to not only get the job, but show the job what you’re worth so you can earn enough to make ends meet at the end of the day. This can give you a chance to not only have a job you love, but to be able to really enjoy it as well!

During the presentation we will be picking two lucky student attendees to personally work with Heather on updating their resumes. She will give feedback to help build a top notch resume so you are ready for a new career!

Join CACVT and Heather Hyatt for an evening of professionalism! Focus on resume building and interviewing skills to give you a confidence boost before heading into a new career!

Speaker Information

Heather Hyatt, MBA, BS, CVT, CSP

Heather grew up knowing she wanted to work with animals - thinking that meant becoming a vet. After a few curveballs, she ended up getting her BS in Management and her MBA with a concentration in Marketing, not really knowing what she would do. Heather found herself fostering puppies while in a wildly different career than she would have planned or expected. It was then she decided to go back to school to earn her CVT at Bel-Rea.

After working in the field doing some GP, some emergency medicine, and then relief in both areas, she moved up within Veterinary System Services (VSS) to management. With a passion for teaching, VSS has allowed her to work with veterinary technician students to help them grow and prepare for their new career. She is now enjoying this diversified career while supporting her family with 3 kids, 2 dogs, 4 cats and a fish.
